As far as names go:

The couple can be Push Pin (Stallion, a minor bureaucrat) and his wife Violet (Likes being a home-maker but is starting to get bored with her life and her husband.)
These could be either unicorns or earth ponies since they're supposed to be a bit boring and pegasi tend to be a bit flashier.

Their coach driver is an earth pony named Rolling Hills.
A real rustic type. Doesn't stick with them as he is busy with the coach repairs.

As far as the denizens of Hollow Shades goes:

The owner of the inn they try to lodge at could be named something like Brass Shine since he's always polishing something in his establishment.

You've got the chamber maid Peach Kiss (she likes peaches and...) who is super flirty with Push Pin (much to Violet's annoyance).

And then you've got the old bats who have gotten together in the common room of the inn to practice for the town festival with their Bavarian style brass band at night, because of course day and night are reversed here.

Which, in turn, keeps our couple from getting any sleep, so they go to explore the night life (against their will and very much to the pleasure of the residents who like tourists but never get any.)

And it just goes from there...

So, I (Not so) recently asked a friend for help creating a bat pony OC. I always kind of avoided MLP out of a fear of being judged, but I kind of want opinions. She's pretty similar to Midnight in looks, but at the time I kind of imagined that bat ponies all looked pretty similar. I'd be happy to type up any information anyone would like to know about her.

First of all, this is /mlp/, not MLP. The second thing: you should NEVER give a single shit about any pointless insults thrown at you on the Internet and especially here, on 4chan. On the other hand, a harsch, but constructive critique is always a good thing, even if anons call you a faggot. And the last thing- your picture is awesome. Lines and shading look like a mix of xn-dragon, stoic5 and kevinsano styles and I like it. Cute face expression, fluffy chest and these eyelashes are just amazing. Mane looks very similar to Speck, but it's a small issue, colors make it easy to know who is who.

Sorry about the MLP, /mlp/ mix up. Second, I don't usually worry, but when it's somthing creative based, I always have this anxiety, especially when showing it to a group that is kind of the head of the topic. I'd love criticism, I mean, I wouldn't have come here if I wasn't expecting some. Afterall, i'm looking to kind of see if I've managed to make something that's decent. The artist is Famosity ( http://famosity.deviantart.com/ ). She's pretty awesome, and very kind from the few times I've chatted with her. The colors are kind of based on a thought that I had. At first I kind of figured that bat ponies would look very similar in colors. i know that's certainly not true now, but it's a bit to ingrained to change now. Her eyes are based on the colors of a dragonfruit (Her personal favorite). Her name is Anana Umbra, though she tends to go by Anna. I figured a fruit and something related to shadow would work for a bat name.

Well, it is done.

Colours from my 'sona but I used a darker shade for his coat and iris, the hair is the same.

First try at a bat pony, as stated, I think it turned out okay. Now tear it to shreds you ravenous beasts.

Regarding the hair:
Pic related is what I could deal with, although I think it's not as bad as you make it seem. I have seen worse, even in this thread.

Regarding the palette:
Again, I think it's not unusual. There's always coat + wings + eyes + hair. Yes, sometimes they use similar colours but many times over it's 4 different ones.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the critique, I just wand to discuss it.

Okay, I've gotten down a basic outline for what I want. With a high octane magic race crammed in with a crowbar. I'm still very open to suggestions or ideas, and since this is a total re-write almost anything is possible.
